Outside the Box – Journey into Nyx Spoilers #1

Let the Journey Begin

Journey into Nyx spoilers have started, and there are a few things that have already caught my eye. Eidolon of Blossoms seems like it could be very powerful in an enchantment based deck:

Giving us a new enchantress that draws cards off of simply being cast seems amazing. The only issues I can see is are there enough playable enchantments to make this card viable for standard. I will definitely be play testing different decks and see where she might fit in.

The next card that has peeked my interest is Iroas, God of Victory:

Picture a deck running Iroas, Boros Reckoner and Brimaz, King of Oreskos, add Spear of Heliod some removal, lands shake and smash your opponent into a pulp! Here is a potential list for an aggressive build using Iroas that I have thrown together:

Iroas Aggro

Main: 60
Creatures: 26
4 Rackdos Cackler
4 Rackdos Shredfreak
4 Soldier of the Pantheon
4 Akroan Hoplite
3 Boros Reckoner
4 Brimaz, King of Oreskos
3 Iroas, God of Victory

Other Spells: 10
3 Spear of Heliod
3 Magma Jet
4 Chained to the Rocks

Lands: 24
4 Temple of Triumph
4 Sacred Foundry
7 Plains
9 Mountain

Sideboard: 15
2 Boros Charm
1 Boros Reckoner
2 Assemble the Legion
3 Burning Earth
2 Warleaders Helix
2 Pithing Needle
3 Revoke Existance

Stay tuned for my next picks as they become spoiled, as I am sure we have not yet seen the best cards this set has to offer.
