Thoughts on Cover
When one speaks of the comic world containing Wolverine we all understand the X-Men is where it started and flourished during its time. Most true fans, and those of us who understand that stories need their share of emotion, evolution, and major plot points know that Old Man Logan was possibly the best arc in the Wolverine story.
When I got to see the cover for Dead Man Logan, I was upset, but not because of the artwork, which was flawless. Not because of the astounding violence, the emotion it brought out in me, or the memories of Logan killing off those closest to him, all because of one Villains ability to make him see something that wasn’t really there.
This cover was perfect!
I was upset because I once again had to see my favorite Cajun laying there lifeless.
Synopsis
We’ve been watching Logan fall to pieces as the Adamantium is slowly poisoning him from the inside out, but the fighter that he is, he’s decided there will be no sitting on his heels awaiting death. He will be taking the fight to Mysterio’s door, and hoping that in doing so, he won’t make the same mistake again.
We follow Logan in the alternate universe, where he is stalking Mysterio, but coming up short through every door thanks to Miss Sinister and her wiley ways. Add in some secretive X-Men work, a few more villains popping up, and everyone’s favorite alternate Hawk Eye, and you have one of my favorite books of the year.
What I Liked
  • The writing brought me back to when I was reading Old Man Logan, as it never missed a beat, and was one of the best comics I’ve read in a long time. Knowing that Logan is becoming as close to human as he has ever been, but still not willing to slow down, is exactly the man we’ve all grown to love.
  • The artwork is immaculate, and works completely perfectly with the story. It feels right each and every frame. I never wanted to pick up issue two so much in my life, but alas we need to wait.
What I Didn’t Like
  • That I have to wait to continue the story.
Final Thoughts
If you are a fan of Old Man Logan, Wolverine, or anything in between, you need this title for your collection. This is one of the best titles I’ve ever had the pleasure of reviewing, and I am so happy it even exists.
